WELLNESS WEDNESDAY: One Word... CELLULITE! Did you just cringe? Ya, if your a woman, you probably struggle with it! Unless of course you work for Victoria Secret OR are naturally gifted with no cellulite - and if that is you, we are not friends! KIDDING!!!! JUST KIDDING!!!! :) To shorten this article Ill list some facts about this dreaded topic - Personally, I think it should be labeled as a disease so that money can go to lab studies and more research to find a cure. LOL! :) 10 - Cellulite is caused from the build up of fat and toxins beneath the skin 9 - Cellulite is also caused from the RELAXATION of Muscles 8 - The human body has over 90 muscles from the pelvis down! Thats a HOLE LOT! If the muscles become relaxed they start to become soft and pull away from the skins surface which will allow the FAT to show. Hence the dimpling effect/ orange peel look. I hate the Orange Peel Look! :P 7 - Cellulite can be dramatically decreased and LESS visible if you do TARGET TONING exercises to those areas and eat non processed, healthy foods. (since artificial sweeteners and added sugar and processing of foods ad toxins) 6 - SKINNY PEOPLE GET CELLULITE !!! (unless your Taylor Swift - pretty sure that girl has NO fat on her!) 5 - The areas on the body that get the LEAST ACTIVITY will most likely develop cellulite. = Sometimes when I sit too long I feel like i can hear my fat cells saying WERE GROWWWIIINNNGGG! Its Scary! 4 - Cellulite is ALSO CAUSED by build up of TOXINS! Flushing your system with water, eating more greens and exercising FLUSH OUT THOSE TOXINS stored in the fats and DECREASE the look of that nasty cellulite. 3 - There is NO MAGIC CREAM OR PROCEDURE! Even the most expensive surgery cannot VOID the occurrence of cellulite. In fact, a good surgeon will tell you that Cellulite can and often RETURNS despite surgery. 2 - Losing weight can sometime ENHANCE the appearance of cellulite... YA - that sucks!! - but I always recommend losing weight if you can because its BETTER FOR YOU ORGANS TOO! Added weight means your organs have to push through an ordinary day HARDER than that of someone who is within their normal BMI. Increasing risk of stroke, heart attack, lung disease, cancer, etc. 1 - GENETICS - though we would like to blame it, Genetics does not mean its INEVITABLE therefore you shouldnt do your best to prevent it. Yes, studies have shown a common gene that may prove to make fat cells more dense in certain family trees, but it does not mean you are GOING to be the neighborhoods walking orange peel. You cant tell me that Ms. Fitness America and every one before her, all had no one in their family history with Cellulite? - ya right! Its called - THEY WORKOUT - EAT RIGHT - STAY ACTIVE - GET REST (since lack of rest also increases toxins) Sorry Ladies, I know, I want a magic wand too.. but SO FAR the trick is to just maintain HEALTH so Cellulite cant thrive. ** side note: Ginkgo Baloba, is known to help detoxify the body and break into those fat cells draining them of their crap. Its also known to increase blood flow which our muscles and cells need. HOWEVER, I am NOT telling you to go out and take it.. I AM suggesting that IF you wanted to take it, you MUST ALWAYS DO YOUR RESEARCH - Certain herbs can interfere with medications or have side effects! Any questions please feel free to ask! :)
