WEM TUESDAY DEVOTION: THERE IS HOPE, COMFORT MY PEOPLE. But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. And regarding the question, friends, that has come up about what happens to those already dead and buried, we don’t want you in the dark any longer. First off, you must not carry on over them like people who have nothing to look forward to, as if the grave were the last word. Since Jesus died and broke loose from the grave, God will most certainly bring back to life those who died in Jesus. Therefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 MSG All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too. In times of trials, tribulations, sufferings, loss of loved ones, and so on. We the followers of Christ Jesus have to arise. When loved ones have been lost by our friends who may either be believers or none believers, we as the body of Christ have to comfort them. Not go in hiding, certainly not! Comfort His people, they are still His people. Comfort the broken hearted, God is near the broken hearted. Does Jesus care when my heart is in pain, O yes He does. I KNOW He does. O yes He cares. Psalms 18:2 NKJV The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Amen.
