WEST AFRICA NEEDS OUR HELP! The entire world is on high alert in the light of the current Ebola Virus outbreak in West Africa especially Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia. As of mid-October 2014, approximately four thousand five hundred (4500) persons were thought to have died on account of the most recent outbreak. At the current pace of infection, unless abated, mortality figures could climb to staggering proportions in the near future. It must be noted that the World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that the best way to deal with the spread of the virus is to address the source. This is an invitation to join other members of our Baptist Family in helping to stem the trail of death and destruction being wreaked on the lives of our African sisters and brothers by this virus. We ask that you collect a special offering for this purpose in time for us to remit before the end of the second week in January 2015. To this end we hope to receive what would really be an Advent/Christmas gift no later than December 23, 2014.
