WEST Midlands Police has tonight (23 June) confirmed that the suspicious package found at a mosque in Walsall over the weekend is a small home-made explosive device. Enquiries have revealed that local residents heard a bang on Friday evening which appears to be consistent with the device going off. No one was injured and there was only minimal damage around the device, which was in an adjoining public alleyway. Police were called to Ashia Mosque on Rutter Street, Walsall at around 10.45pm on Saturday 22 June following the discovery of the device by a member of the public, who had taken it into the building......Read more.
