WET WEATHER WARNING: The Bureau has issued this warning folks ahead of some heavy rainfall expected during the day: Heavy rain, which may lead to flash flooding, is expected to continue today. Currently, the heaviest rain is located on radar over the greater Brisbane area. Locations which may be affected include Gold Coast, Brisbane, Coolangatta, Ipswich, Moreton Bay and islands and Caloundra. Falls up to 80mm have occured during the last 2 hours over parts of the greater Brisbnae area. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should: * Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters. * Keep clear of creeks and storm drains. * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500. The next warning is due to be issued by 1:45 pm. Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureaus website at bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 219. The Bureau and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly. Well keep you up to date with any changes in the situation and with any local road closures.
