WHALE WATCHING/INTERACTION! (please excuse the not-so-great sound and vision in this footage!)...but if you look to the left of the clip, you will see a humpback whale (in amongst a beautiful large pod including a brand new bubba and its mum who were also both waving their fins at us!) excitedly slapping and waving his large fin repeatedly, as if to say Hey.e and play with us! haha :D This vision was captured yesterday, when I was out relaxing on a catamaran, watching these magnificent creatures playing and cruising along in the ocean - AMAZING day! Do you have Whale Watching/Interacting on your bucketlist? TIME IS RUNNING OUT for this year, here in the Southern Hemisphere at least, to make it happen - the humpback whales have almost finished making their way back down south, after going up the eastern seaboard of Australia to Hervey Bay then heading back down - all the mummas, cute brand new bubbas, and their escorts are happily (and very playfully - they have been AMAZING this year, more so than other years by all reports!) cruising down at the moment - but only until the end of October/beginning of November - a few more weeks then they will be gone again! Among the variety of whale-watching companies along the east coast of Australia, we are spoilt for choice here on the Sunshine Coast, Qld - if you want to make it happen, and are able to be on the Sunshine Coast in the next 3 weeks or so, heres who to contact! - all these boats leave from Mooloolaba - Brian at Set Sail Cruises setsailcruises.au - relaxing on a catamaran for 3 hours, heading out to spot and watch the whales - Steve Irwins Whale One whaleone.au - step onboard the large two-story vessel, sit back and watch the magic unfold in front of you - then, for the very first time in Australian waters, we have SWIMMING with the Humpback whales, with Dan and Katie from Sunreef Diving - sunreef.au - be taken out into the whales home and playground, jump down off the boat into the ocean, and be in the very same space as these magnificent creatures! Experiencing this earlier this whale season, all I can say is WOW...absolutely breath-taking, and not-to-be-missed, mindblowing experience! I feel so priviledged to have been able to go out with all 3 of these awesome companies, to experience the magic! So there you go....three ways to make it happen, (and there are other whale watching businesses along the eastern seaboard as well - jump on Google and you will find them) - Get in quick...or you will have to wait until next year to experience the magic! ;) :D
