WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES She arrrived at Animal Care and Control from the Bronx. Her intake sheet said Fractious! Probably Feral! Howls when touch is attempted! Then, under that RINGWORM-New Hope Placement or EUTH. Her name was Baby Josie. Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition pulled her for us. She weighed a lb. She howled in the carrier on the way home, and stared out at me in terror. When I got her home I fed her baby food off my fingers. She nipped my fingers-she was starving. Within hours she was playing. She was quarentined til Calvin McCatster got into the room and figured how to open her cage door. She was renamed by my husband who said She has Ringworm and she had to go. Ringo the Beastess. She ran away and hid from every potential adoptor, once jumping over someones head as they bent to pet her. We live in an apartment. She gave the ringworm to another cat. We put ointment on both of them and it went away and we cleaned alot. We took her despite that-otherwise a 6 week old kitten with the equivilant of Athletes Foot would have beem killed. She is Miraboos nemisis-she doesnt like her. She likes all the other cats, and plays tirelessly with the kittens. She is Calvins girl-we think they are married. She now meows to me to be held and put on my lap and played with. She wasnt feral at all. She was a scared kitten. Today there are many more on Death Row. Please go to Pets on Death Row - Urgent Death Row Cats and save one. As you look at Ringo, think about that you can save a life-a soul-with so little effort. Please. Be The Change.
