WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND! On Friday evening I had dinner with my attorney and long-time friend, James Marotta. We talked and reminisced about years gone by and the present state of affairs in my hometown and the world. A former mayor and family friend, Pat Kramer and his family was there, and we shared wonderful memories also. Then on Saturday, I attended the baccalaureate ceremony at Penn State to watch my granddaughter, Shakia, receive her B.A. in Psychology. I had the chance to see and dine with more family and loved ones that I hadnt seen in many years. Then to put the icing on the cake, Sunday I visited my home church and saw and embraced others who I hadnt seen in years. I saw, embraced and spoke with people that I grew up with, who are now parents and grandparents. But the best surprise that I had was after I had shared parting words with the beautiful people at my home church, I turned around and my grandson, Emile Treyvon, was standing behind me. Wow! I just grabbed him and held him. After that I joined my oldest daughter, her mother and our grandchildren for a Mothers Day family gathering. Someone stated that the happiness of family and friends is an earlier version of heaven. Well, this weekend was heaven for me. And the best is yet to come. :-)
