WHAT A SHAME.... It is a disappointment when certain cadres like this Algerian National Education Minister Ben Ghabrit acceptent jobs in which where they are expected to master Arabic. Why do they accept these jobs and make fools of themselves then as this lady does? Let me guess. Power and prestige. Over her image as an Education Minister and a people representative? This would never happen in the USA where image is very important and people don’t get their jobs through ma3rifa. I felt sorry for her fumbling like a middle school student trying to speak English. Ive been offered a job on the radio answering listeners’ psychology questions and I said, No thanks I will wait until my Arabic comes back. Do you think I’m going on radio and fall apart all over myself trying to answer listeners questions in Arabic? No, it won’t happen. I guess power and prestige are difficult to resist. No wonder we have so much mediocrity in our country. Some people would rather look foolish than lose their powerful positions.
