WHAT A WORLD !!!!!!! My Dear friends, Its nice to be back on the block after a break from our philosophical thought seeking Allahs mercies, forgiveness and blessings in the observance of Ramadan My break was marred by the human tragedies around the world during this period,mans inhumanity to man was inaundating.. from every part of the globe came disheartening and sometimes frightful news of bloodshed and atrocities and hatred. How can our world standby and look,? 3 young Israelites killed and in retaliation a young Palestine also murdered and what follows can only be imagined in terms of human suffering. I am not talking about the politics of the conflict just that my heart bleeds for innocent men, women and children under bombardment in Gaza and in Israel as well. What about those in Iraq , Syria and of course coming home to our dear country Nigeria where the so called misguided Boko Haram detonated a bomb in the market in Abuja and in a Kano church and many others. It is not the immediate casualties of the dead, or maimed, it is the uncertainty in everyday life that results from these incidents. Dont we all feel the pains and the anguish ? What about a father in America who deliberately left his only son in a car under the scorching sun all day to roast to death for personal gains while thousands of American men and women are spending fortunes to have children through surrogate mothers in India. But the sun has not started to rise from the west to signify the end of time. So why? Can our world ever be at peace ?. I believe it can . Peace starts with each of us peace in our hearts means peace in our families and peace in the families will translate to peace in our community and to our country and the world. We must learn to forgive ourselves and let love, tolerance and justice be our watchwords as Martin Luther King said I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality... I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word. Lets remember, It isnt enough to talk about peace, we must believe it. And it isnt enough to to believe in it, we must work for it. Brothers and sisters,starting today let each of us live and work for peace by being tolerant, loving and upholding justice and fair play in all our actions and deeds.
