WHAT ABOUT MODI.....READ THIS The article published by @IndianExpress under the headline “At CM’s bash, many Maulvis made to stay outside crowded Town Hall” on Sept 19, is not only misleading but also resorts to slander. The actual turn of events at the event was quite different from what is portrayed in the headline. Though it is true that some people could not enter the hall during the program, it was due to overcrowding, tremendous enthusiasm among party workers and common man alike and was purely a matter of chance. Quite a few people present at the venue, unfortunately, were not able to enter due to huge rush to meet and greet the CM. But understanding the enormity of the turn-out and difficulty in managing the crowd nobody expressed anguish or dissatisfaction. Maulana Shariful Kadri quoted in the article itself said "It was our wish to meet the Chief Minister. We had planned that we would pray for his long and healthy life and his victory after greeting him. We did not get a chance to meet him, but we prayed for him outside the hall. We do not blame anybody. We were not able to reach the stage as the hall was overcrowded."This further substantiates our point. It is important to note here that even many Saadhus and Mahants and the leaders of various organizations from within and outside the state present on the occasion could not enter the hall due to overcrowding in the hall too. So the opinion pushed in the article to show that members of a single community were sidelined and others were given preferential treatment is totally baseless and unfortunate. It feels as if the headline of the article was a deliberate ploy to create a mental rift between selected communities, where none exist at present. The fact of the matter is that the whole felicitation program was celebrated in a festive mood by people of all the strata of society. The buoyant mood at the event was not of anguish or anger, as the headline of the article suggests, but of love and affection for the CM. The atmosphere at the event as evident in this photograph is further testimony to this fact. Thus it can be concluded that the title of the story was not only misleading but it was also a gross misrepresentation of the fact. It is only an exhibit of the epidemic of jaundiced vision which has gripped a section of our media!
