WHAT ABOUT PRAYER? – PART III As mentioned previously in Part I, there is no right or wrong way of praying, nor are there any rules surrounding the length of the prayer - it all just has to come from the heart. I share with you my prayer guide – and I do not imply in any way that this is the one and only way to pray. It is simply a guide to those who are wanting to know how to talk to Heavenly Father with confidence Opening: My most gracious Heavenly Father Praise: I thank thee for ............. (could include your thanks for answered prayers, blessings you or others may have received, thankfulness for the knowledge and understanding about Him, thankfulness for your family/friends/relationships/job – anything you are thankful for that you trust He has brought about) Requests: I ask thee for ............. (could include personal requests such as guidance, asking for strength, answers, things you would like to change or requests for others in terms of healing or positive outcomes – anything you trust He can bring about) Ending: I say and ask these things, humbly, in the name of thy son, Jesus Christ. Amen You will observe that the prayer starts with acknowledging we are talking to God and ends with an acknowledgement of His son, Jesus Christ. John 14:6, Jesus says “I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father, except through me”. In order to receive the gift of eternal life three things are necessary: Firstly, you must acknowledge and accept that God lives; Secondly, you must acknowledge and accept that Jesus is the Christ and thirdly, we must obey Jesus Christs command of baptism. The above prayer for me ensures that this knowledge is instilled in my heart and I express my acknowledgment to our Heavenly Father each time I pray ... May God Bless you all, Melissa Jean.
