WHAT DO WE REALLY WANT FOR SK COME 2015? No one is so bad that they have not a single person speaking in their support, either in sympathy or because they are beneficiaries of the goodwill of the so called bad people. In short, no one is ever hated by all, not even the devil. EJZ Have we defined what we want in an SK Senator? What are the criteria for finding the one among the candidates who perfectly marries our qualities of a Senator for SK? Are we going for antecedents or fantasy? I think if we cannot agree on these, we may never separate the struggle from its perennial colouration of GREED, in which case the cycle is certain to continue shortly after swearing-in. If Mr A, B, C all support Senator Esther Nenadi Usman, D, E, F support Barr Mark Jacob Nzamah, G, H, I support Gumbari, J, K, L support Shekarau, K, L, M support Shettima, M, N, O and P...Z support someone else, so be it. All of these cannot be Senators of Zone 3 at the same time. Not all these ones will become their parties flag-bearers in the first place. Our fight will become defined in fact after the primaries. So, instead of insulting A, B, C or D, E, F, etc for supporting other candidates than the one you want them to support (which is grossly disrespectful and undemocratic), you would do yourself and your candidate a favour by concentrating on presenting him/her as a good worthy of the highly competitive and shark-infested Zone 3 senatorial market. If God were to reveal to us why we support the candidates we support, would the pictures be selfish or selfless, patriotic or hypocritical, pro or anti SK? So, you see, everyone has their reason but we must learn to set all these aside and focus on the common good. Let the whole of SK be the beneficiary of our effort and not JUST ME. If we are not careful the way we go about marketing our candidates by casting slur and slinging mud at people who support candidates we do not support, we may be shocked to discover that soon, after our candidate wins and, God forbid, goes the way of other politicians before him/her, we are in deeper and more unspeakable mess than the people we now insult. What I am saying is that we can make our case for our candidates without insults. Anyone who loves SK knows what we need NOW but if someone cannot see that still, either by sincere blindness or as a result of chronic greed, we need never resort to insults to resolve the blindness. In the end, SK will rise or fall, survive or perish, due to the level of our SELFLESSNESS or SELFISHNESS. God bless SK!
