WHAT EXACTLY DOES BEING SUCCESSFUL ENTAIL? Earlier today, I was attending a lady whod travelled all the way from Muranga to seek my help. I happened to have enquire from her what she does for a living. Im just a deputy head teacher in a primary school. The word JUST caught my attention. It created an impression that my friend thought his job as a a deputy head teacher in a primary school was not something to be proud for.the word JUST caught my attention. It reminded me of my pre-clinical days at the University of Nairobi. Those studying non-professional courses felt inferior to their counterparts and even developed inferiority complex. Some were even ashamed of revealing the course they take. A lady from medical school could not relate with a male student taking Arts-based courses; Reason? He was of low stature! Males studying Arts-based courses had a rough time attracting ladies from courses in medicine, pharmacy, engineering or architecture. Students taking Bachelor of Arts(BA) were the most stigmatized; a they were being teased that they were taking a course known as Bachelor of BEING AROUND(BA), Implying the 4-year BA degree course is useless and waste of time. Those doing BSC general are said to be studying BullShit Combination(BSC)(lol!). This made most students taking such courses developed chronic stress and failed to reach their full potential after losing morale to study. Students taking professional courses like medicine and engineering treated their Arts counterparts with disdain. Medicine students looked down upon nursing students. Students used to relate according to the course one was taking. Students Taking professional wallowed in a miasma of self-importance and looked lowly at their arts counterparts. Undo?~What course are you talking was the used to be the first question one was asked when you meet a fellow student. But thats all hogwash and Im talking from personal experience~ whatever you do, do it to your best and be proud of it. Success in life isnt based on the course that you studied, or whether you did it at diploma or degree level. Arts/Anthropology graduates are among the most highly paid in international organizations. Education alone does not guarantee success or riches. Some of the worlds most desperate derelicts are highly educated. The truth sets in painfully later in life; That therere other factors to success besides the course you did~ Your IQ, experiences in life etc. What do you think?
