WHAT I SEE… (hear me out) As a musician, I see a great deal of evolution in the music industry daily. Like many other industries, music is suspended purely on entertainment and provided mostly for peoples enjoyment. Right? good. In my opinion, each individual music listener then has the ability to create or destroy the entertainment industry - based solely on their actions and involvement in what and how they listen. So - What I hope to do (without sounding like a whining loser) is reiterate how important it is to ACTUALLY get behind the things you love and support them (this isnt just about music, but for this rants sake, it is) BUT ONLY if you actually LIKE IT. My ask - if you like it... buy it! IF YOU get it for free… SHARE IT! The amount of albums I have given out or sold to someone offering me $5 is crazy - BUT KNOW THAT I DONT MIND giving away my stuff - What scares me is simply how long I can do it for… To give you an idea - in the last 12 months I have independently spent around $70,000 on my own original musical career/ recordings etc... - Im not saying this to show off (thank god for credit cards), purely to put it into perspective on how much I want to succeed in this and share my musical soul with the world. THANKYOU to the people who have consistantly supported me along with ANY OTHER MUSICIAN by purchasing music, attending shows and sharing their music with your friends. because TO ME.. THAT. IS. HOW. ITS. DONE. Social media and TV shows are FANTASTIC at taking things to the market place, BUT if all of these things are FREE… then how does the artist get paid? simple… they dont. Just wanna shout out to the supporters and say a big THANKS! and to the people who LOVE music and dont do a thing to support it… ITS TIME TO STEP UP.
