WHAT IS CROSSFIT? Crossfit is a training philosophy that uses constantly varied, functional movements, and increased relative intensity to coach people of all ages, shapes, and sizes to improve their physical well-being, strength, and cardiovascular fitness in an accepting and encouraging environment no matter where you are on the spectrum of health and fitness. CrossFit contends that a person is as fit as they are proficient in each of ten general physical skills: cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, agility, balance, coordination, and accuracy. Crossfit is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.”(Courtesy of Crossfit) CrossFit provides for functional fitness helping each member achieve an increase in work capacity across broad time and modal domains. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist. (Courtesy of Crossfit)
