WHAT IS MY LIFE...the JK Rowling edition. For years, as part of my speeches about the HPAs support for LGBTQ equality, I would say a line that I made up, If Harry Potter has taught us any thing, its that no one has to live in a closet. It was just part of my stump speech. After years, it becomes a thing and people make a lot of memes of the line. Flash forward to this week: a young woman on Twitter asked JK Rowling if there are gay students at Hogwarts, or something to that effect. The Scottish Wizard maestro (JK Rowling) replies, But of course. And she includes a meme that says, If Harry Potter has taught us any thing, its that no one should have to live in the closet. No idea how JKR got that meme, but she did. NOW news articles have been coming out where the press is talking about this interaction (because they report on if JK Rowling sneezes) and they are attributing the quote to JK Rowling. I will say here, on Facebook, that this quote came from me. I will also say that the fact that JK Rowling has used my quote (and what has become a quote of not just me but of the HPA) and that its now being attributed to her....... this really hasnt sunken in for me yet. JK Rowling accidentally quoted me. WHAT THE HOGSHEAD?!!! Next, the Daily Prophets for our world are saying that JK Rowling made it up. HOW THE HOGMEADE?! I mean, thats even COOLER. I am now JK Rowings ghost writer. Im like Nearly Headless Nick if he had been a writer.
