WHAT IS YOUR LEGACY FRIEND? We have all asked the question, - TopicsExpress

WHAT IS YOUR LEGACY FRIEND? We have all asked the question, “What is my destiny Lord?” Whether you are 15 years old or 60 you may still be searching for this answer. If you are like me, you wake up and ask, “What would you have me to do today Lord?” and by this you are only looking at the next few hours of this day and this day only. I actually gave up years ago trying to figure out what God’s plan was for my life OR SO i THOUGHT. Although I was called to the ministry twenty plus years ago, I felt that serving as a Pastor of a church or serving overseas as a Missionary was not my calling. When God chose the Apostle Paul to serve Him He said, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles [non Jews]…” To be clear about what He wanted Paul to do He was telling Paul that he was to be obedient to Him and that his only purpose in life was to do the will of his Heavenly Father (Paul was chosen by God to serve God). Have you been chosen friend? Is your heart heavy or burdened about a family member or co-worker that is living apart from God and you know deep down that if they were to die today they would miss Heaven? Whether you realize it or not, if you are a child of God (a born again believer) you are an Ambassador of Christ Jesus. It is written, “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” (2 Corinthians 5:20) There is NO REAL LIFE apart from Jesus Christ friends. You can walk in the shadows of darkness your entire earthly existence and never find true peace apart from this truth. The apostle Paul said it best when he boldly proclaimed, “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Most people only focus on the last part of this verse, “to die is gain,” with the ultimate goal of reaching the joys of Heaven. But we should not overlook what comes before. The importance of this verse is in “to live is Christ” and must be absorbed in your thinking. As a matter of fact, this verse (Philippians 1:21) should be central to every Christian’s life. In this passage, the apostle Paul is saying that everything he has tried to be, everything he is, and everything he looked forward to being after his conversion is now directed towards Christ Jesus. From the time of his Damascus Road conversion until his martyrdom, every move he made was aimed at advancing the knowledge, gospel, and kingdom of Christ. Paul’s greatest legacy was that he brought glory to Jesus.
