WHAT KEPT PAUL GOING FOR THE LORD TO KEEP US GOING ALSO Acts 9:1-6 -realizations and excerpts from Ptr. Gil de Rosas preaching (03/12/2014) Intro: Christians nowadays need to be forced to serve the Lord. Apostle Paul was not like that. He served purposely until the end. Right after Paul chose to serve the Lord, people immediately wanted to kill him. How many of you would still serve the Lord after that happened to you? (consider 2 Corinthians 11:25-28) Its easy to give up than serving the Lord until the end, isnt it? I. Because of the Christ that saved him He (Paul) killed Christians. But everything changed when he met Jesus - instantly, he was ready to serve God! HOW CAN I TURN MY BACK TO THE ONE WHO SAVED ME? To the One who loved me? To the One who cared for me? How?! How much do you care about Jesus? He always cared for you. II. Because of the changes that came in his life He loved the Christians he once hated and killed. He loved Christ he once hated. He loved the cause he once want to stop out. IT WAS A DRASTIC BUT COMPLETE CHANGE. He was identified as crazy telling the way of salvation. Wow... It was a remarkable change! III. Because of the calling to which he responded He was immediately called by God the moment he got saved! And that call is to preach the Gospel! God told him to go to the city first and there he will be instructed. Gods will is simply obeying and its progressive. You just need to go there first. When God calls us, He requires something from us: AVAILABILITY, DEPENDABILITY and STICKABILITY. God called us (all Christians) as workers. The problem is, only few are available... How do you use your gifts, talents or abilities? Are you doing something for God? IF GOD CALLED YOU, REMOVE QUIT ON YOUR VOCABULARY! DONT EVER QUIT! Remember David when he faced Goliath? He was not yet a king although he was already anointed. You see, you must never stop! You will need to face your Goliath first along the way! We need to be SOUL-CENTERED (seeing the lost souls need of salvation) everywhere we go. The harvest is ripe and plenteous. The question is, what are you doing for God right now? THERES ALWAYS A PLACE FOR YOU IN THE CHURCH! THERES ALWAYS SOMETHING YOU CAN DO FOR THE LORD! IV. Because of the coming of the Lord Jesus again He never stopped (even though people were stopping him). Because he knew, Jesus will come again. Are you ready to throw in the towel? Or will you keep going. God is faithful right? (AMEN!) BUT ARE YOU FAITHFUL TO GOD?
