WHAT OTIENO #KAJWANG DID FOR THE PEOPLE OF NORTH EASTERN PROVINCE (NEP) The late Senator of Homa Bay County Hon. Otieno Kajwang is remembered in North Eastern Province for opening the First Passport Office in the Province in Garrisa Town and thus ending the 40 year discrimination against the Somalis in accessing the vital document. That was truly a moment of joy and relief for every resident of #NEP who wanted to get a Passport, and rather than travelling to Nairobi for the Passport Process the Garissa Passport made it easier to access it and get it without any delay or discrimination whatsoever. The late Hon. Otieno Kajwang was truly a leader who remained the face of agitation for democracy and reforms in Kenya. The untimely death of Hon. Otieno Kajwang, the man who brought the first passport office closer to the marginalized communities in North- Eastern Province during his tenure as the Country;s Immigration Minister is a lose not just to ODM or to the People of Homa Bay County but also a loss to the whole Nation. The Garrisa Passport Office has since been taken away by some mischievous and juvenile officials within a year of the Jubilee Administration.
