WHAT RAILROAD? --- Heres a photo of a former depot in the tiny unincorporated town of Ashton in Sumner County, Kansas in 1908, with a track crew posing with a handcar. Was this depot on the ATSF Railway or the St. Louis & San Francisco Railway? I have no railroad history material for Ashton, Kan. The sign on the building listed Ashton as being 527-1/5 miles from St. Louis, so Im guessing it was probably on the Frisco line. (Photo courtesy of the Kansas State Historical Society).
