WHAT THE NATION SHOULD SERIOUSLY LOOK INTO : The root cause of all evils in our society is RESERVATION Those who are covered by the reservation policies do not want to come out of the reservation category. Moreover the criteria & the bases on which the policy of reservation is made is itself faulty. > Which category of the society should be within the ambit of reservations? > What should be the criteria? The terms SC/ST according to me should be replaced by a single category and that should be Financially backward community The government should provide special assistance only to those who are financially backward. The reason i state this is.... > I have seen people who are financially very sound, own their own apartments. > Rent out apartments and earn much better than the common man who has no govt. assistance. > own multiple sites. > Own four wheelers > Can we call them backward? If so on what grounds do we call them backward? > They dont want to come out of this category simply for the reason that they are getting everything that the poor should get. > They prefer to be labeled as the backward community for the above reason even though they have everything and living much better than the middle class. With all the above facilities they enjoy, they still get the special status which according to me is not right. They should not be falling within the special category at all. The above are only a few of the many points that the government needs to look into and work on. Assessments have to be made in a timely fashion and names deleted from the special category from time to time. This is not impossible but our politicians do not want to bring this change only to maintain their vote bank and the policy of appeasement. This change is a must now and the rules for the special category should be changed to cover only the following: > Those who are financially backward > Those who are economically backward Uniform civil code is the need of the hour apart from the above. Anyone who is not in for Uniform civil code is welcome to leave India. Special concisions for specific communities for their pilgrimage should stop. APPEASEMENT is disease and it should be eradicated. Whats your opinion !!!
