WHAT/WHERE SHOULD YOU DO/GO IN HANOI FOR ONE DAY? In the morning, after eating Pho Ha Noi, you should come out to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum first, because the Mausoleum is open in the morning, except for Monday and Friday closure (Free Entry). Then you go to the Temple of Literature (Fares: 20k), bun-cha for lunch or banh-cuon in the old quarter, both of them are the very yummy Vietnamese traditional food. In the afternoon, strolling around Hoan Kiem Lake and sauntering over the old quarter are such a good choice. You could also past the Opera House and the French Quarter, you guys are free to purchase some souvenirs, enjoy Hanoi street food. When your legs are tired, you can visit some cafes to enjoy Hanoi sightseeing (there are many good café shops on Hang Gai street, or some other restaurants with more beautiful view in the buildings near Hoan Kiem lake named: Ham-ca-map (Shark Jaws). At night you should try eating barbeque in Tran Khat Chan Street or Dai Co Viet Street, eating boiled-snails in Dinh Liet street or fried nem-chua in Tam Thuong lane in Hang Bong st. - Two delicious noodle shops in Hanoi: Pho Bat Dan (49 Bat Dan st, near the old quater) and Pho Thin (11 Lo Duc st). Other food: Bun-Cha Hang Manh at 67 Duong Thanh st, or Bun Cha at 47c Mai Hac De st. Banh Cuon Thanh Van at 14 Hang Ga st. - Transportation: You guys can combine both the taxi and walking, or biking as well. Traveling around Hanoi is not difficult.
