WHATS WITH THESE RESCUES AND ALL THEIR DARN QUESTIONS?? We often hear people say things like adopting a dog is harder than adopting a child. We hear questions like; Why do you have such a long application? Why do you need to come to my house? Why does my whole family have to meet the dog? Why give 3 references? Isnt any home better than no home at all? We can go on and on.... Here is a great article on some of the reasons we as a reputable rescue have a structured adoption process. We put a lot of time, energy and love into saving as many of these innocent lives each and every day. When screening applications we put our animals best interest first. Any respectable rescue will make you go through a thorough adoption process, with references checks, a home visit, and multiple conversations. So the next time you are looking to adopt, be prepared to complete a lengthy adoption application and to spend some time chatting on the phone with a volunteer. Dont be offended or annoyed - be thankful that those rescue-minded individuals care enough about the dogs (and cats) in their care to ask the questions that need to be asked examiner/article/those-darn-dog-rescues-with-all-of-their-rules-and-questions-what-gives
