=== WHEN MUST ONE FAST? === Fasting the month of Ramadan is obligated upon being sure that it had started , and this is done through one of the following:- 1. When two juristic withnesses see the crescent (new moon) on the thirtietn night of the month of shaaban , and that is if the sky was cloudless, and the wision was clear. According to Hussein ibn Alhareth may god bless him, he said : the prince of Mekka Abdullah ibn omar, may God bless them - delivered a speech , then said the messenger of god (peace be upon him) charged us to seclude ourselves for observance, if we did not see it, and two juristic witnesres witnessed having seing it, then we sould adopt their testimony. 2. When a large group sees the new moon, and it know that they would not agree to deceiver people ; furthermore, the are mumerous, and among them it is not necessary to have any juristic witness or a man of honorable record. 3. When one person with an honorable record and it trust worthy sees the crescent. Based upon the speech of ibn umar, may God blesr them , he said [people saw crescent and i told the messenger of Allah (peacn be upon him) that i saw it; so he fasted and commanded the people to fast too] anyone who sees the crescent should report his vision to the media which he believes would inform all the other muslims. Forthermore, even it his report was not accepted by the responsible avhorities, he is required to fast.
