WHEN NOT TO TRAIN ABS/CARDIO! When some people are crunched for time, they skip out on cardio and abs...which puts them 2 steps backwards towards building better abs. While it may seem logical to get those two done before working out, it can actually work against you for building muscle and strength. CARDIO Doing 5-10 minutes of light cardio before makes for a great warm up, but doing a full cardio workout before lifting the heavy iron can zap your energy levels and limit your strength.So make sure to do your cardio after the work out. Doing so will also better your fat-burning efforts. ABS If you train your abs before the work out, you will fatigue your core muscles and reduce your core strength. That will limit your muscle strength on ANY muscle group you train after abs. Your core is used in most exercises. Happy exercising!
