WHEN PRAYER BECOMES SIN Continuation from where we stop,categories of sinful prayers. 3)Prayer becomes a sin when you are praying as a substitute for obedience:-God is calling you to obedience but you prefer to pray instead. After a person has fallen into a grievous sin and he is saying,he has prayed and gone for deliverance and all what he needs is to repent. Such prayers and deliverance is null and void. The Bible says,Has the Lord great delight in burnt offering and sacrifices than hearkening unto His voice? Behold,obedience is better than sacrifice,and hearkening than the fat of rams. 4)Prayer becomes sinful when it is selfish:- James4:3: Ye ask,and receive not,because ye ask amiss,that ye may consume it upon your lust. Many people do not want to pray for others but want others to pray for them. Selfish praying is sinful praying that is why,we do not have many intercessors today. Prayer is meant to be God-centred and not self-centred. Prayer is not me,myself,or I,my wife,my children,my family,my property alone. 5)Prayer becomes sinful when it is faithless:- A lot of people come to pray in the house of God without expecting much to happen. But the Bible says,He that cometh unto God must believe that He is,and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. But without faith it is impossible to please God. Beloved,there are many categories of sinful prayers but,few are mention because of space. Man,apart from God,will always pray corrupt prayers. If our prayers are to be a force that will be difficult for any power to contend with,they must follow the biblical pattern,they must be prayed correctly,they must be prayed in the spirit. Are you praying the kind of prayers that God wants you to pray? At this point,I want you to bow down your head and start to tell God wherever you have been praying the wrong prayer,the prayer points of your enemies,He should forgive you. Tell Him you want to move forward in your prayer life,that you want to get to the level where His Spirit will pray through you. If you are reading this message and you are yet to give your life to Christ,you have the opportunity right now to do so. Just bow down your head and pray like this:-Father,in the name of Jesus,I come before you;come into my life. Take control of my life,in Jesus name I pray. Amen. Lets pray these prayer points. 1)My prayers shall not become abomination,in Jesus name. 2)My prayers shall not anger God,in the name of Jesus. 3)O heavens of my spiritual life,open,in the name of Jesus.
