WHEN THE APPLAUSE STOPS: We’ve all grown up watching people in the public eye receive applause from approving crowds. There’s a general tendency that exists in all of us to want acceptance and praise from our human counterparts. Sometimes we end up feeling let down when there seems to be no one left cheering us on. This emotional reaction can eventually take over our lives and cause us to lose our spiritual focus. Then we end up making a major shift in the direction of seeking attention only for ourselves. In Gods word theres an important emphasis on faith in what we do not see. One Biblical Author puts it this way, The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd. - Hebrews 11:1-2 The Message (MSG).
