WHERE ARE THEY NOW?? We promised you a report on our professional players and here it is. Right handed starting pitcher Ryan Searle was assigned to Class A affiliate Daytona Cubs in the Florida State League. Searle had a tough start to the season posting a 6.35 ERA throwing 17 innings before sustaining an shoulder injury. Searle is currently rehabbing at the Cubs Arizona facility where he is working hard to get back onto the mound. Ryan Battaglia has been assigned to Cleveland Indians Class A affiliate Carolina Mudcats, where he has spent time both behind the plate and at first base. Battaglia is currently batting .244 through 45 At-Bats. Logan Wade attended the Minnesota Twins spring training camp where he has been designated to Twins Advanced Rookie team in Tennessee. Unfortunately Wade has torn his hamstring and is currently also in rehab. Nathan Hass continues to impress enjoying his first extended spring training with the Atlanta Braves, where he will soon break from and join the Braves Rookie ball team in Orlando Florida. Donald Lutz attended his second Major League Spring Training with the Cincinnati Reds this season where he was assigned to Double A affiliate Pensacola Blue Wahoos. Lutz started slow in Double A, posting only a .211 average but an impressive 5 home runs through only 70 at-bats. Lutz rated as the Reds best power prospect, then got called up to the Major League team to replace injured Chris Heisey who still remains on the Disabled List. Lutz is currently batting .235 with the Reds Major League team. Left handed pitcher Greg "Georgia Peach" Hendrix has found himself playing for the Peoria Explorers in the newly formed Freedom professional independent baseball league in Arizona. Hendrix is also planing on travelling to Europe to play for Great Britain in the Euro Championships. Who Else is Playing Baseball during the Aussie winter? Matt Roxburgh will take a brief spell from patrolling Center Field for the Royals where he will join Greg Hendrix and play for Great Britain in the Euro Championships. Brent Young has accepted an offer to coach the travelling Southern Stars Baseball Team who will depart soon to California USA where the team will play High School and College teams. Young will also coach a Queensland travelling team to China this winter. In other news, it is reported that Starting Pitcher Justin Staatz has joined the North American Mountain Climbing Team and is currently exploring the rocky peaks outside Denver Colorado. Our other Championship Starting Pitcher Mark Trau, is in current negotiation with with rock band Blink 182 to be the bands new drummer. Promo Video is attached.
