WHERE ARE WE THE mUSLIM OF TODAY...Muslim scholars played a major role in the development of scientific knowledge in the field of Algebra, Medicine, Navigation and others, from the 12th to the 17th century most European scholars made references to the work carried out by the then contemporary and early Muslim scholars. The famous European Mathematician Leonardo Pisano or simply known as Fibonacci in the book Liber Abbaci page 406 makes a reference to the work of Muhammad Ibn Musa Al-Khawarizmi, a Muslim Arab scholar of Algebra. Fibonacci introduced the west to the Indian-Arabic number system from which he earned his fame and a statue of him was erected in the 19th century to honour his service to Mathematics. Howard Eves refers to him in the book An introduction into the history of Mathematics, page 261 as the most talented western mathematician of the Middle Ages. It is important to point out that he did not invent the Indian-Arabic number system but it was rather the invention or the great thinking of Muhammad Ibn Musa Al-Khawarizmi for which Fibonacci earned fame throughout Europe. However he was very modest and honest to actually make a reference to the work of Al-Khawarizmi who deserves due respect and honour yet he is not as famous as the person who used his work as a foundation to earn his fame. From this we find out that the Muslim scholars played a major role in the changing of the existing and problematic roman number system into the new and much better and understandable system of the Indian-Arabic numbering system which significantly changed the whole economy as accounting, figuring interest rates, and measuring weight units gained a higher level of clarity and was easy to calculate and understand all thanks to the hard work of a man who was driven by religion and god and that religion being a religion which is nowadays only labeled as encouragement to terrorism, however the hard work of Al-Khawarizmi proves that Islam can and does fundamentally order every person and believer to gain knowledge in all fields.
