WHERE DID WE GET IT WRONG? Are u proud to be a Nigerian? Dear folks even if u are not. Is there anything that can alter your birth and infant nuture as recorded by nature-the mother of all Registry? But a spade is a spade. Our nation is not what we as a people dreamt of many years ago. To start comparing our development to other countries is never an attractive exercise.The Yoruba adage of TI A BA FI OMO WE OMO, A O LU IKAN PA meaninig if we compare a child with another, one of them will be condemned is apt here. Yet the fact remains that: is our society what it should be? Since transport is the first activity of man i.e when the siemens travelled to fertilized the eggs, dear folks let us consider our public transpportation firstly. There is no modern railway system(of course underground rail system is an abomination) Our rail carriages/cabin is stiil the same ones used to tranport Goldie and Lugard before my father was born. Our roads from lagos/benin, lagos/ife, lagos/abeokuta etc are crying for attention and claiming lives (manpower) on a daily basis. In 21st Century, we still think that Okada is part of solution to our transport proplems. Whereas 30years ago, in this same country, people travelled on fewer road network without Okada because Okada was only deemed fit for private use only. 30years ago, our people trekked from any taxi/bus-stop to their various destinations but today even our agile youths wants okada to transport them into father house. We probably forgotten that we used to transport ourseves with our legs.
