WHERE DO YOUR TAX DOLLARS GO?? All Americans pay taxes. We pay employment taxes, social security taxes, State and Federal income taxes, sales taxes, property taxes, taxes on our vehicle registrations. We are taxed to work, and we are taxed to spend and we are taxed to save. Where do these tax dollars go? Our nation as a whole is failing. Our transportation infrastructure, streets, roads, highways and interstates are in very dismal condition! Potholes, failing bridges and crowded conditions. Our City infrastructure is failing as well. Sewer and water lines are collapsing. Most cities are working with water and sewer systems that more than 50 years old. Our schools have hit bottom. The teachers are purchasing supplies for classrooms out of their own pay. We are asking teachers to teach classes with 30 or more students, with fewer supplies, and less pay. The lunch programs in our schools costs as much as going to a fast food restaurant, but more than half of the students get shorted of food, as there is never enough provided. School supplies, i.e. books, desks, art supplies and gym supplies are outdated and in short supply. Art programs, music programs and physical education classes are being cut. The military budget has been cut yet again. We pay celebrities and sports players millions of dollars while the men and women who fight to protect our freedoms are expected to live at or below poverty level. I am confused. While America is failing, as a Country, our government is growing daily. Federal Government is taking liberties with our freedoms that have, in the past, been illegal. Our ancestors have fought for hundreds of years for the freedoms that we, as Americans, have, until recently, enjoyed daily. We no longer have the freedom of speech, for fear of offending. We are in jeopardy of loosing our right to keep and bear arms because someone, somewhere might use a weapon to commit a crime. My family has worked hard for everything we have. My parents and grandparents and great-grandparents were all blue-collar workers. We, and they, never have had much, but we had enough for today. We have all, always, paid our taxes, in full and on time. For the most part, we have always been law-abiding citizens. I believe we started straight downhill when we removed God from our schools.
