WHERE DOES THE SUPREME COURTS WRIT END AND DEMOCRATIC GOVERNANCE BEGIN Somehow the thought of a Supreme Court running matters of state and directing governance at every step is not digestible. However learned and wise or otherwise, the idea of unelected officials dictating at every turn all a government must do, notwithstanding the constitutional powers of such officials, is deeply disturbing to the idea of a democratic state. I feel that with all its flaws, governance should be left to government and if they dont perform people will throw them out. While a right to recall may help focus action, on the whole the power of democracy is the greatest impetus to action and should not be usurped by judicial over reach. I DO NOT see how revealing names to a Supreme Court appointed SIT and again revealing the same names directly to the Supreme court in a sealed envelope helps either unearth or bring black money back OR indeed whether sitting judges now get to be experts on either diplomatic and multilateral protocol or banking processes. Judgment is not always common sense as the blanket ban on all coal mines showed and for all its learning and extraordinary exercise of constitutional muscle, nor has the supreme court suddenly acquired extraordinary competence to run affairs of state. INCIDENTALLY, THE PUBLIC IS AND WILL REMAIN IN THE DARK ABOUT THESE BLACK ACCOUNT HOLDERS AS A CONSEQUENCE OF THE SC ORDER, as names were submitted on a sealed envelope on SCs direction. So no need for some folks to feel smug either unless the Supreme Court reveals all in public too. Watch the space folks.
