WHIDBEY WILDLIFE – OUR NUT FARM SYMPHONY Our Nut Farm attracts many critters, Squirrels, Bunnies, Mice, Hummingbirds, Honeybees, Dragonfly’s, and of course, flocks of forging Birds. Walking out any door of our home greeted with a symphony of chirps, caws, tweets, quacks, and song – from sunrise to sunset. As darkness, approaches the owls and geese join in. Besides hundreds of Filbert Trees, Our Front Yard entry and Michael’s Garden especially attract the birds. They enjoy fresh produce, Raspberries, Grapes, Apples, of course bugs, and more. Our wide variety of Sunflowers is a buffet that entices the birds to stay even longer. They land on the Sunflowers, maneuvering, in numerous positions for the tasty seeds. Dozens of these tiny birds, while chirping loudly, circle around the yard, Sunflower to Cedar, then Maple tree and back to another Sunflower.
