WHO ARE YOU HANGING AROUND WITH? POSITIVE AND FULL OF FAITH - TopicsExpress

WHO ARE YOU HANGING AROUND WITH? POSITIVE AND FULL OF FAITH PEOPLE, OR NEGATIVE AND FULL OF COMPLAINING FOLKS? Anyway, people we hang around with will eventually influences us to faith, or doubt, to worry, to complain, to murmur, to talk about others, or to be full of vision, and good vibes, and always thinking of moving forward. People influence us to live holy, to be God seeker rather than pleasure seeker. Who are you hanging out with? Here is what the Apostle Paul just told me this morning...BAD COMPANY CORRUPTS GOOD CHARACTER...OUCH! Good word...Paul wrote to the church in Corinth to remind them that whomever a person choose to be his companions will either influence them or the other way around. They have much need to HOLD firmly to the word that he preached to them. Otherwise they will be influenced and being led astray and their faith in vain. The topic they discussed was about the resurrection of Christ. People were being confused by other who came and tried to dissuade and persuade them not to believe in the resurrection of Jesus. There are so many teachers out there who are slowly moving away from biblical teaching and teach the philosophy of man. People are being led to doubt what they have believed in all these years. Humanistic thinking and worldly philosophy and what is acceptable to human culture is taking center stage rather than the gospel of Jesus Christ. Sadly this is happening in the church today. Paul then warn the Corinth NOT TO BE MISLED…BAD COMPANY CORRUPTS GOOD CHARACTER…What does he meant by this? He meant that if whoever we hang around with will influence our thinking and our behavior. The power of associating with people can never be underestimated in our lives. People will influence you. And not only in matters of Spiritual beliefs, it is also an important matter in everyday life. Whoever we associate with, we will think like them, talk like them, behave like them, and eventually you lose who you are and your values. If we hang out with a thief, someday we will entertain the thought that will corrupt our character…hang out with a gossiper, we will talk about others. Hang out with complainers, you hear enough of their complains, you started to complain about things…If you hang out with grateful people, your talk and thinking will always be gracious and grateful…you hang around people who always think about visions and missions, your thoughts lead in that direction as well…If we hang out people who are prideful, you will reaped their attitude…In short, YOU AND I MUST CHOOSE ARE COMPANIONS WISELY…Chose whom you want to MENTOR your wisely. Don’t just go along with the flow and just hang out with people that will corrupt you…Paul says, COME BACK TO YOUR SENSES QUICKLY AS YOU OUGHT TO… Yesterday at our midweek service, talked to a young man who came to the service for the first time. He came by searching the net. After our the service I asked him where he was at before he came to New Hope. He said, first encounter he had was through Jehovah Witness, stayed there for five years…somehow when he did a research on their doctrinal beliefs and found out that something was wrong and he couldn’t stayed but started to look for fellowship. So he left the JW. I said to him, you are a wise man. When you realized something is wrong you make the change. This is what Paul is talking about. Be careful of the things that will CORRUPT YOUR CHARACTER…AND MIND AS WELL. Just because something sound Christianee, or spiritual does not mean it is of God. Choose your fellowship wisely… I will close with this encouragement from the Paul…Dear brothers and sisters, BE ON YOUR GUARD; STAND FIRM IN THE FAITH, BE COURAGEOUS, LET NOTHING MOVE YOU, BUT ALWAYS GIVE YOURSELVES FULLY TO THE WORK OF THE LORD, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain…Lets do this family…(1Corinthians 15:33–34)
