WHO CAN RECEIVE THIS? By His RESURRECTION you have been healed and made whole! But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5 NIV) Who is the our the Holy Spirit through Isaiah is speaking to; who was Isaiahs audience? ...he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.” (Matthew 8:16-17 NIV) Who did Jesus come to, and who was Matthews intended audience? “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24 NIV) Who was Simon Peters ministry directed toward? If your answer to all the above questions was, those of Hebrew descent – pat yourself on the back! All of these things were directed toward the Israelites – not you. The Israelites were healed and made whole by the stripes Jesus took; they were received in His body to compensate for their sin – as defined by violations of the Law (which you have never been under). YOU, however, were healed and made whole because you have received Jesuss death, and were included in it. You were ALSO included in HIS RESURRECTION. BY HIS RESURRECTION YOU HAVE BEEN HEALED AND MADE WHOLE, as you have received a new spiritual family lineage, and have been given eternal life (remember, there are NO aspects of death in eternal life)!
