WHO IS BEHIND OYO TOWN UNDER-DEVELOPED STATE? Governor Ajimobi can testify that we are the one truncating our developmental roads. On the 9th of Wednesday 2014, The selected delegates of Oyo Global Forum OGF held a meeting with governor Ajimobi. Reverend Oladele Kolade did the introduction by making OGFs s ideals, goals, mission and vision known to the governor. GOVERNORS RESPONSE: His first comment was: Oh, ’Eyin ti won ni e n ma bumi niyi?” and OGF delegates equally told him “beeni sir” and we will not hesitate to continue doing that until our agitation is heard. He laughed and then said “Ko ye ki e ma bu mi now, you should seek means and ways of engaging me so as to ask questions and I will give you answers”. Ki e ma bu mi does not get the job done now but in all honesty, I commend your organization for being patriotic and for standing and agitating for the development of Oyo town. OGF position papers was presented to Governor, on which they talked about the following issues that have been ravaging our dear town. 1.The yet to be finished Oyo roads. Ajimobi replies. You need to know what the pressure and the problems they gave me first in the aspect of contract award for the road. You did not ask why it took over four months before construction began after the others in Iseyin and Ogbomosho started. 2. Poor Environment Impact Assessment of the project: Though Governor agreed that theres indeed much dust, yet urged the people of Oyo to please bear with the situation while it last but should inculcate the ability to render communal service and not wait for the government. He said nothing is wrong if a person wets the portion that is directly in front of his or house or shops. 3. Erelu project: The Governor said FG was no longer forthcoming on the funding of the project and that his government has therefore embarked on the rehabilitation of the old phase which by September will see improved water supply to Oyo, as the Governor promised. 4. Fulani Menace: OGF demanded grazing reserve to nip in the bud the tragic cases of Bororo menace against our people. He said getting land for any developmental purpose is the most problematic thing in Oyo. Wel told that it is possible to get land, he said, ehh, se Oyo yin ye? Eyin o mo nkan kan. Mr. Osuntola argued that the Governor is empowered to acquire Land from anywhere in the State under the Land Act for overriding public interest and would want the governor to act decisively on that aspect. He insisted Oyo is a peculiar case when it comes to issue of getting land for developmental purposes. However, Mr. Olanrewaju Mohammed and Barrister Goke Eesuola gave assurances that OGF could help get land for any use that is concerned with development and the governor just merely laughed, glanced away and gave a nod. When Goke Eesuola said as a matter of assurance that the Ogf could get land, the governor said ok” 5. The Governor told the delegation that Chinese engineers were already working on the Atiba FM. Toward the end of the meeting the Governor requested sustenance of channel of communication between OGF and himself and that he will love to partner with us in the development of our town. Where I will like to come in, is it true when it comes to acquiring land for any developmental purpose is the most problematic thing in Oyo town? If Ajimobis claim happen to be true, who is giving the problem, who is in charge of land matter in Oyo town or what are the yardsticks to measure Ajimobis already known claim? I have said it times without number that our figure head leader is not giving way for real developmental projects in Oyo town, but some good for nothing youths happen to be Oyo House of Propaganda and Conspiracy Housemates are calling for my head. Who is now anti-progress?
