WHO IS BEHIND THE KWANDE STUDENTS( NAKS )CRISIS? The National association of kwande students (NAKS) came into existence since 1996 when young Nigerian Students of Kwande Origen across the nation who saw light came together to form a formidable union so as to be a force to be re corned with and have a voice.That move was a welcome development to the people of Kwande having considered the declining nature of the kwande educational excellence and inability to maintain the educational standard and pride of the Kwande people.These young students received the blessings from several Kwande role models who were recognized as good ambassadors of Kwande in all their endeavors.In the past,prior to the formation of NAKS,Kwande used to boast of several students who were considered as the future of Kwande.These were the first generation of Kwande Students.At that time, there was no formal coming together of the students as was the case of the 1996 Naksites. There coming together was mostly done in schools like Government College Katsina Ala( G.C.K),Mount St Gabriels secondary school Makurdi,Bristow college Gboko and Government college Keffi where they were dominants.At that time,Kwande was comprising of Kwande Barakuv the present Kwande and Kwande Barazov,now Ushongo local government.These people were united,had love for one another and never showed up any discrimination.Kwande local government is highly rated and command a lot of respect for their educational exploit and have kept Kwande’s name on the map of educational excellence. It is interesting to know that prominent among them are the likes of James Ityowua Adzape who commanded a lot of respect for his educational exploit at Government college K/Ala and was later rewarded with his election as Ter-Kwande where he served till death.Also to be mentioned is Professor Justin tseayo who remains the first Professor from Kwande and one of the first in Tiv Land.To be considered also is his younger brother who later became commissioner in Benue state,MR. John Atelaki Tseayo,Mr Hileihongo Anendah who established the first private school in Kwande and one of the best in Benue state then.Others include Professor J.O.I Ayatse who remains one of the best brains in his field the country has ever produce;an administrator per execellence,a politician,a religious,pius and a profoundly good man of Kwande who was former vice chancellor of the federal university of agriculture makurdi and now pioneer vice chancellor of federal university Dutsima in Katsina state.Also among them are the most cheerful giver of the 21 century late Hon.Clement Ashar Igungu who later became education secretary under Rev.Fr.Adasu’s regime and the former deputy Governor of the state late Chief Ason Bur. Though these people mentioned above never established NAKS,they were been listened to and were always called upon by the elders to comment on issues bothering the land.We must not forget to appreciate the founders of NAKS who have taken the bull by the horn by bringing NAKS to it present status.These are the second generation of NAKS from 1996 up till date.The union under Comrade Sesughter Iorhagher brought a lot of innovations that attracted the interest and further streinthenened the unity among Students of Kwande when in his own wisdom,he introduced the Sham Kwande beauty pageant where Kwande girls were always encouraged to go to school and remained good ambassadors of the land. It is an acceptable norm in NAKS that elections into offices of NAKS executive be conducted in December and new exco be sworn in to swing into action and this was always observed until a planed elongation during the tenure ship of Comrade Doofan Asaku.Following this miscalculation,NAKS election has always been shifted to either new year and Easter period with politicians shifting their attention to test their political might since Student groups have mortgaged their voices and sold their conscience to Politicians by campaigning for them and refusing to speak on issues that affect the land.We need to have a strong NAKS that will not see themselves as tools for politicians but a NAKS that the people of Kwande will listen to when ever they speak.A NAKS that will produce motivational speakers like late Comrade Basil Chianson,Comrade Douglas Kachi,Comrade Sesughter Iorhagher,Late Hameeza Paver,Comrade Doris Iorchir (nee)Sham paver who were always standing for the truth. I feel so sad that those who should have stand to defend the Students mandate and educate them that no matter what happens,the students mandate must stand are keeping quiet.What about Kwande students who stood in the sun on that election day,who spent most of there precious time and energy,Who examined their conscience and cased their votes that mandate entrusted onto Comrade Isaac Tyowua?where are you?why are you quiet?Is it true that you have been bought over?Kwande is burning daily in high flames when Kwande senatorial right is said to have been mortgage by the conspirators? The most painful aspect of it is that we are all Kwande and this injustice is going on in our land. I ask this question because I hate injustice.WHY IS THIS NAKS ELECTION THAT WAS SO CLEAR DIVIDING KWANDE? There is no NAKS election that will not be petitioned,and there is no NAKS election that will stop both Turan and Ikurav-ya Students from contesting. Upon all the elections,the Popular candidate always emerges.Comr. Sesughter Iorhagher contested against Comr.Biggy Chibee Itough from Ikurav-ya and there was petition but he was sworn in.Comr.B.B Akortsaha contested against Hughordoo Nambativ Dominic Ihongo and Solomon Anji and there was petitioned by Nanbativ from Turan but the people’s mandate was not denied,Comr.Sewuese Apeverga against Comr.Peter Terseer Akosu from Ikurav-ya and there was petition but the mandate stood still.ComradeAlexander Gisa From Ikurav-ya won against Comr.Morhan Aji Adagi from Nanev and their was petition but there was no shaken as the mandate remained.Comr.Doofan Asaku time was not diffrent ,and there was petition but the mandate did not change and several other NAKS elections.Why is the petition against Comr.Isaac Tyowua,s eletion different?Is this comrade from Turan not of Kwande origin?which court of law granted an order to restrain this Students’s choice from been sworn into office?I was told that the grounds for the petition were that Mr Tyowua did not buy the form on the deadline day.As some one who had been into full partisan activism during my days in school,Several election deadlines are always shifted forward when candidates have not purchased various forms and the students could even jettison the ideal of purchase of forms and picked students who have interest to serve,what ever they did will be legalized. Having say so,let me ask that why did the ELECO vested with the responsibility of conducting NAKS election sold the president form as costly as 10,000 naira?don’t they know that it is service work for the students?at least the forms would have been sold for 3,000 naira.Why has NAKS become a target for political weapon?how come the name of Hon.Terhile Iorchiir and Hon.bem Tseem Dominating NAKS?is there any iota of truth in the rumour been spread by NAKSITES that Hon. Terhile Iorchir is using his younger brother to get NAKS support for Suswam’s senate ambition?Is it true that Hon. Bem Tseem has sponsored Comrade Tyowua to serve his interest on his next political move? These several questions demands answers because we can not fold our hands and watch Kwande burning in our own time.I look at those drafting the name of Hon. Bem Tseem as only been reactive for defense cause if he actually has a hand,as the Chairman,he would have known a way to settle this battle.This is a time for us to unite for the right thing to be done.Comrade Fanen Tyoakosu who became the students popular choice was stopped on the similar circumstances when all the stake holders of NAKS decided that Turan should produce the next President after the tenure of Doofan Asaku to balance the Kwande political map as they remain the only axis in Kwande that has not produced the President and now it is happening to another turan son.Who are the people depriving the students mandate? I sincerely and with due respect call on Comrade Imoter Iorchir to embrace his brother mr Tyowua and save Kwande from burning in the name of Turan/Nanev and Bem Tseem /Terhile Iorchir. Thank you.
