WHO IS BLIND, LOVE OR LOVER? 19/11/2014. ॐ श्रीपरमात्मने नमः । A very noteworthy fact related with the Love is the motto that the Love is blind. Actually Love is not blind but the Lover is blind. Lover ties blinding band of persuasion on his eyes, which disables him to see the reality. He will be blind as long as he has worn the blinding band. The reality will say that the girl or the boy, you are mad after is ugly, non trustworthy, unacceptable and can’t be accommodated in the family. The father, the mother and all family members find her or him unacceptable. But Lover says she or he is the most beautiful, the most trustworthy and the whole acceptable. For this difference of opinion one should try to understand the game of mind (Mann). Have you ever analysed why you like a thing or a person? Who takes decision that you like a thing or a person, your mind or your intellect? You will say that you have taken the decision after careful consideration by the intellect. This is what I call the spectacle of persuasion, the blinding band of persuasion, blinding the person. In reality when your mind sees a thing or a person and gets instantly infatuated by that, that thing or person starts looking attractive to mind. Minutely try to understand the process, the phenomenon. It is not that the thing or a person is attractive that is why mind likes it, but first mind gets infatuated by a thing or a person and wants to possess or own it, and then the attraction in a thing or in a person is effort fully planted. It is not intellect that takes decision that the thing or the person is beautiful and acceptable, but intellect only implements the decision of mind and constructs beauty, acceptability, trustworthiness in a thing or in a person and rationalizes the decision of mind. What you call your rationale or your intellect is mere obedient slave servant of your mind. Lest people tell you have not thought before taking decision, your intellect finds out reasons to consolidate, support and rationalize your mind’s fancy. Now let us talk about Lover. So when your mind sees some girl or a lady and gets infatuated, it decides to own her. The moment your mind decides to own her, she turns beautiful, all attractive, acceptable and accommodative. Now your mind needs her and wants her and longs for her. Now it is turn of intellect to construct a case to present her as affectionate, the most beautiful, attractive, acceptable and accommodative. Which intellect does and the ugly, unacceptable, nonaccomodative girl or woman, all of sudden becomes beautiful, acceptable, accommodative and trustworthy. Your intellect persuades your rationale to accept the girl or woman as such. This is what I call blinding band of persuasion or spectacle of persuasion which blinds the Lover. So Love is not blind but the Lover blinds himself against the reality in connivance with the intellect. . हरिः ॐ तत् सत् ।
