WHO SHALL SAVE THE APC YOUTH IN RIVERS STATE? I have come to the reluctant conclusion that the PDP/ Wike imperial political system is only superior in its projection of violence, whether by lawbreakers like the Obuah , Barr. B S Omeringwa ( the candidate for the House of representatives ) and Samuel Anosike, the party leader in Ikwere local government and other party/ Wike apologist, or by law keepers like the police that dances to their tunes As I write this piece, the corps of a young man mowed down by the antics of the PDP machine is being mourned in Igwurita Atali this morning. Reports reaching our desk have it that, on the night before Chikere Byke Wanjoku s ( a candidate on the platform of the APC) campaign train hit Igwurita: As prerequisite for such gatherings, Ward leaders were instructed to mobilize and to set the tone for the event by hoisting posters, banners and party flags within the territory. These enthusiastic young men of pluck and determination led by the ( APC) ward secretary Demian Dickson, on the fateful evening went about the business as instructed, but unknowingly to them that the reverberation of their activities were taking a brutal toll on the fortunes of the PDP, and Barr BS Omiringwa in particular, who by the time was finalising plans to go to the State Security Service and the police, to lodge a complaint that these boys were responsible for the vandalisation of the pdp banners in the Area. The security operatives swooped into action just like that; based on the account forced down their throat, went after these APC youth,arrested few and missed others ,though their formidable foot still trails. What happened to one of the boys arrested I cant tell. But information available to our desk have it, that the boy was bruised and his life left staggering along alone in some hospital were he eventually died. As I write, the other boys are on the run and stranded out there in the cold, waiting for who will come save their lives. I must state herewith nothing is more formidable and impressive than an armoured position, but nothing is more vulnerable and helpless too . Brutalising your children isnt a virtue of the manly. What is happening in Igwurita and other parts of Rivers State is a display empirical power at its most brutal and savage. We call on well meaning people of the State to look into this situation,and for the police to do an independent investigation. These boys are innocent. And to the PDP leaders, you either give the Apc youth liberty, or be prepared to give us death ,but you shouldnt forget, No man is wounded twice in same day . We must defend change.
