WHOA! Dick Durbin what dont you have your little sticky Democrat fingers in? A new SuperPac that is helping Dick Durbin by attacking his opponent in the U.S. Senate race in Illinois is being bankrolled by a man whose questionable federal contract shortchanged the company now supplying the Ebola vaccine. The crony capitalist donor also is a donor to Dick Durbin’s campaign. The SuperPac, the Heartland Project, has as one of its two largest contributors the wife of controversial longtime Democrat Party donor and crony capitalist Ron Perelman. Anna Chapman gave $250,000 to the SuperPac on Sept. 26. Perelman’s company, Siga Technologies, was given a controversial $433-million contract, according to the Los Angeles Times. Published reports described the sole subject award as questionable and the company that was passed over, Chimerix, is the major developer of the Ebola vaccine. Chimerixs medication was given to Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan, who died, and Ashoka Mukpo, who improved. Various news and opinion outlets from across the ideological spectrum such as the Weekly Standard, Huffington Post, the Federalist and the Rush Limbaugh show) have speculated to various degrees about whether the crony contract to the Durbin donor might have stunted the development of the Ebola vaccine.
