WHOA. Rumor is, probably thanks to it airing non-stop on Pivot, and Guardians of the Galaxy coming out soon (a property it shares a lot with), FARSCAPE may soon be resurrected with a film! Brian Henson has tried several times to relaunch Scape over the years after 2004s The Peacekeeper Wars seemingly closed the door on the one property that actually managed to capture part of that magic that was the Original Star Wars trilogy during its run. So much so its long been rumored that George Lucas was such a fan of the show (and friend of the Henson family), he was a silent backer of the Peacekeeper Wars which was a mini-series that tied up loose ends left by the fourth season finale which unfortunately, for a time, looked to be the series finale despite leaving things on a cliffhanger and both main characters dead when the bastards at SyFy cancelled the show after acquiring the inferior Stargate SG-1.....a show they didnt have to finance. (Something the producers of Stargate felt so badly about they eventually hired both Ben Browder and Claudia Black to lead later seasons.) After Peacekeeper Wars, SyFy promised a webisode series, and possibly a cartoon (in a TV Guide article), but those never materialized. Hopefully, this project doesnt share the same fate. Ill definitely be crossing my fingers on this one, but I wont be holding my breath. Because as weve seen recently with Power of the Dark Crystal, even if a Henson project seems like it might happen, theres no guarantee that it ultimately will.
