WHOLE FOODS The more we learn about nutrition, the more we are beginning to realize the importance of returning to a whole foods diet—the way people ate a hundred years ago. A whole food is a food that is as close to its natural state as possible. Whole foods are minimally processed, real foods with no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. They are not tainted with refined carbohydrates like high-fructose corn syrup or harmful, plastic fats like hydrogenated oils. Our bodies truly recognize them and know how to break them down.
