WHOSE REPORT DO YOU BELIEVE? 35/2014 05 July 2014 POWER TIME WORD devotions written for you by Overseer PZ Mukwena You open the envelope trembling. It has the report or results: School report, varsity report. Doctors report, Diagnosis report. Credit Bureau report, Work performance report, ........the list goes on. You may hear that they (I do not know their names!) were passing around a bad report about you. It has been written in Kwayedza, The Metro or the Sun, Facebook or Whatsapp! Good report. Praise the Lord. Bad report - do not be dismayed, there is, The Mother of all Reports in Isaiah 53:5: It was for our sins (and wrong doing) that he (Jesus) was wounded, and for our evil doings he was crushed: he took the punishment by which we have peace, and by his wounds we are healed. BBE That Report settles it. It negates, nullifies and defies ALL other reports true or false, justified or not, damning or otherwise. Whose report shall you believe. Theirs? Remember I said I do not know them. Alternatively, believe Isaiahs report. His report came from Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. JESUS CHRIST (Isaiah 9:6). Jesus blotted out, the handwriting of ordinances (the bad report) that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross (Colossians 2:14). There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. [Rom 8:1] WEB. ACTION: Take note of recent reports you received recently. PRAYER: Praise God for good reports. Table the bad reports before God in prayer (like Hezekiah in 2 Kings 19:14) and thank God that these are the reports which were nailed to the cross of Jesus Christ. Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? But he (Jesus) was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:1 & 5
