WHY CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG Why are we currently in mourning? What is the root of this annual period of reflection and why must we continue to observe this level of grief? Even our personal observance of mourning for our loved ones only requires a single day per year on the persons yartzeit. Year after year we sit for 3 weeks and pray for our Bais Hamikdash to be rebuilt. But what is the bottom line? We cannot rebuild our home until we work on ourselves as a group. Its very simple actually. All Hashem wants is what every parent wants, all of their children to get along. But why cant we? Its natural to have sibling rivalry but how did we get here? We have so many nations who try and destroy us generation after generation, why would we contribute to that. I see it too often on FB as an example of people posting hate against their fellow Jews. Its heartbreaking, so much so that Hashem has us mourn for 3 weeks, 9 days, 1 fast day, every year. Hashem is a parent crying out to His children to get along. When will get it? When will we look at our brothers and accept that we arent all the same but we are family. If only we could love and not hate we would merit the rebuilding of the Bais Hamikdash bimhera biyamanu!
