WHY DID JIMMY FALL? by WILL HASKEW- William Haskew ------------------------------- 1 Peter 3:9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. Why did Jimmy fall? Simple! He let down his guard and relied on himself instead of God. His message was entangled with demons in his own life. You can see this in people when they dwell too much on a subject. What dominates your life? Are the demons constantly in pursuit of you? When Jimmy fell publicly he was humiliated by the public. He then... Got back up... dusted off his clothes... And acknowledged to God and the world that he had failed. Am I a judge of Jimmy! No! Is it up to me to determine his reasoning for this acknowledgment to the public. That.... is.... in.... Gods.... Hands! But, I do respect the occasion that he did what very few will do. It may have been a one shot deal! He may have sinned again. But, for that brief moment in time, he could make the strongest of men crumble. He made the most naive mock him. I will always remember Jimmy and the occasion when he acknowledged his sin to the world. And yes... I too have sinned. Please forgive me! 1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, Revelation 5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
