WHY FATLESS DIETS FAIL Sadly, since we have become obsessed with eating low-fat foods, Americans have actually gained more weight! The problem with low fat diets is that in exchange for fat, we tend to eat lots of carbs, which stimulates more cravings and this causes us to gain even more weight because we take in so many extra calories. We also have a tendency to eat empty, refined carbs, which quickly turn to sugar, raising our insulin levels. Beneficial fats include unsaturated fats found in olive oil, coconut oil, seeds, nuts, etc., and omega-3 fatty acids, found in flaxseed and walnut oils as well as in fatty fish like salmon, cod and mackerel. Of course, even these need to be eaten in moderation. If you couple this with a good nutritional supplement... you could be on your way to better health and weight loss!!
