WHY I AM RUNNING A TRANSPARENT GOVT .... GOV DICKSON. 22/06/2014. Bayelsa state governor Hon. Seriake Dickson has pledged commitment to continue to run a government of transparency by regularly keeping the citizenry abreast of the workings of his administration. He has also promised to remain focused on the programmes and policies of his administration geared towards improving the lives of the people of the state, adding that, he will never succumb to rumour mongers and those who do not wish the state well. Govrenor Dickson, who spoke through his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Hon. Fred Agbedi, at the maiden edition of the state ministerial media briefing in Yenagoa, the state capital, described the briefing as a veritable channel to further educate and enlighten the people on the, policies,programmes, progress made on project execution and the overall activities of the restoration government in the state. Hon. Agbedi disclosed that, Governor Dickson has tasked each ministry and MDA to leap-frog our people from want to wealth, from poverty to prosperity, from despair to hope, insecurity to security of lives and property. The Political Adviser lashed out at those he described as desperate politicians and mischief-makers, who go about misinforming the public and spreading all kinds of rumour to achieve their own selfish agenda. According to him, the desperate politicians are out to discredit the Dicksonadministration which he stressed is already receiving local and international accolades for its unprecedented developmental strides in virtually all spheres. He, however, assured that no amount of blackmail and propaganda aimed at distorting facts and rubbishing the monumental achievements of this administration will stand. He described the two year-old administration as a watershed looking at where we were, where we are now and the possibilities that lies ahead of us. This administration will continue to move on with renewed zeal, greater commitment and determination to complete this race of renewal and restoration of our dear state. The point remains inviolable that the Restoration Government has in the last two years changed the socio-economic and political climate in Bayelsa State for good. No one can feign ignorance of this reality because in every household, there will certainly be witnesses that their lives have been positively affected, he declared.
