WHY I LOVE MY PHILIPPINES BUT HATE THE GOVERNMENT My Dearest Kabayan, You might read, watch or hear many negative stories about our country and us the people. Some say we have the worst airport in the world, we have idiotic television shows, we have bias journalism and they even say most of us are uneducated and no sense of direction. I am deeply hurt about it, I know you are too. Can we blame them if they look at us that way? Do you think what they say is somewhat true? Generalization is easy to lie down, we have no option than to respect their opinion, however we can do something to change their scrutiny towards us. it’s unfortunate that our country is poor and majority of the people are. This is not because, we lack of brilliant people in different fields and definitely not because we don’t have natural resources to be self-sufficient, we do have all of that but this is because of the control of power of the worst politicians and wealthy people against the majority rules the nation. If this will not change, rich will be more affluent and poor people will be poorer passed on through the next generation, what’s sad is that we all knew all of this from the beginning. I know, the common majority can also be hold responsible because they are the ones who choose those appalling politicians in government pose. Nevertheless, I understand their struggle, sometimes they have no other choice, day by day they hold on to a rather prickly situation in order to survive, I can totally relate to that because I’ve been in that condition. Rampant cheating of loaded prominent politicians is evident, they will do anything to buy a vote and get the post that they want passed on to their children and control a municipality or province.
