WHY I WATCH TV AND MOVIES: Unless its Shakespeare or Tennessee Williams or Doctor Who, I dont watch anything for its entertainment, emotional or storytelling value. My pleasure comes exclusively from the sociopolitical analysis of the movie or program. Or picking out its mystical, folkloric or occult references. I care only about the ideas, philosophies, symbols and methods of persuasion. And if they are satisfactory interesting, then I will pay attention to character, voice, plot, acting and production values. I like ideas. And how they are used as instruments of power. This is my enjoyment. I realize this now. I shout it to the winds!
